Team plans to expand Casa Grande event to honor four local tribes, while O'Odham Tash's next move uncertain

Plans to expand Casa Grande Cowboy Days are being made, and a leadership team has been assembled as business and civic leaders in the city build on a successful first effort in February.
The nine-day event includes the relocated Mike Cervi Jr. Memorial Pro Classic team roping competition, for more than 20 years a staple at the annual Tucson Rodeo. It also includes a Canadian roping event, ranch rodeo and senior roping events. An all-Indian rodeo is planned for 2012 because organizers believe that O’Odham Tash, the 43-year-old all-Indian rodeo begun in Casa Grande, could move again — perhaps out of Pinal County — after holding it at the Pinal County Fairgrounds in February.
